About PR Pi

PR = the practice of managing the communication between an organization and its publics. It is something intangible, which sets it apart from advertising.

Pi = the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is an irrational number, which means that its value cannot be expressed exactly as a fraction m/n, where m and n are integers. Consequently, its decimal representation never ends or repeats.

It is also a transcendental number, which implies, among other things, that no finite sequence of algebraic operations on integers (powers, roots, sums, etc.) can be equal to its value.

Pretty powerful stuff, right?

Impossibilities and possibilities,  improbabilities and what’s predictable, tangibles and  intangibles…well…they’re just some of quandaries we hope to tackle in this blog.

We’ll also cover digital issues like social networking including tips, tools and strategies for improved SEO, blogging, social media engagement, campaign measurement and analytics. And we’ll test and report on how new technologies can advance your practice as well as cool case studies.

As you may have guessed, we’re also huge fans of puns and pie–the mathematical pi’s edible homonym.

We also believe that no professional should be completely one dimensional (we must all eat!). In that vein, we’d like to taste your cooking chops. We’ll post one pie recipe each week plus a photo with a link to your site.

If you have a recipe for a tasty contemporary or vintage pie, send us the recipe and a photograph. Or, you can leave the tasting to us and just send us a pie.

If you have news or a blog post you’d like to contribute, or need help with a publicity, or social media problem, email it to us and we’ll consider it for coverage at PR Pi.
